Dearest Tree, Old Friend,
I finally found time to shed a tear for you this morning
How I have loved you, and have been warmed
Inspired, by your beauty
Your branches, like a swirl of lace
Swept upward into the moonlit sky
As they also drew one's glance
Towards the beauty of the sunrise
You are still a home for small creatures
The birds still love to sing in your branches
The squirrels still play in you
And other creatures look to you for refuge
Though storms have caused some
Of your branches to fall, You are still here
As you have been for many years
Though we do not know
How much longer we will know your graceful Beauty

Trees are certainly like old friends! The weeping cherry is gorgeous outside my front door! It has been a joy to watch it grow up!
